Short chain chlorinated paraffin

Short Chain Chloroparaffins (SCCPs) are organic chlorinated compounds widely used in industries such as plastics, coatings, rubber, and textiles. Short chain chlorinated paraffin has strong solubility and compatibility, and can be mixed with various organic solvents. In the clothing and footwear industry, chlorinated paraffin is commonly used in leather coatings and finishing preparations to improve the wear resistance, waterproofing, and smoothness of leather. In addition, short chain chlorinated paraffins can also be used as flame retardants in fields such as plastics, rubber, ink, paint, adhesives, and surface coatings.

According to the European Union's Persistent Organic Pollutants Directive (POPs), the content of short chain chlorinated paraffin in substances and mixtures shall not exceed 1%, and the content of short chain chlorinated paraffin in items shall not exceed 0.15%. Due to the special characteristics of textiles, leather, and other related products, the control of chlorinated paraffin is more important. OEKO-TEX ® The association has developed OEKO-TEX ®  STANDARD 100 and OEKO-TEX ®  The LEACHER STANDARDS standard not only strictly limits the content of short chain chlorinated paraffins, but also controls MCCPs with similar chemical and physical properties to ensure that the production process, output, seller use, and disposal of products do not pose a threat to human health and the environment. Due to the widespread application of chlorinated paraffin in leather processing, relevant enterprises can pay more attention to the testing standards for short chain chlorinated paraffin.
