Canadian Consumer Product Safety Act CCPSA

The Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) is a bill that addresses the safety of all consumer products. On December 15, 2010, the bill was passed and officially implemented on June 20, 2011. After the implementation of this bill, the first part and Annex I of the Dangerous Goods Act will be repealed simultaneously. The Canadian Consumer Product Safety Act applies to suppliers of consumer goods in Canada, including manufacturers, importers, distributors, advertisers, and retailers of consumer goods. The consumer goods referred to in this bill refer to products obtained under reasonable circumstances for non-commercial purposes, such as those used for household, entertainment, and sports purposes. Not applicable to certain products that should fall within the definition of "consumer goods", including explosives, cosmetics, drugs, food, medical devices, and ammunition, which are governed by other laws.

Prohibition requirement: Consumer goods that are prohibited from manufacturing, importing, promoting, and selling.
