FCC (SDOC, ID)

FCC certification is a product certification for electronic and electrical products manufactured or sold in the United States. It proves that the radio frequency emitted by the product is within the limits approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The Federal Communications Commission of the United States has established technical standards for testing electronic and electrical equipment based on the type of RF emitted. The rules and regulations of the FCC are set out in Chapter 47 of the Federal Regulations (CFR). According to the rules, the tests are divided and named by device type as follows:

FCC Part 11 "Emergency Alarm System";

FCC Part 15 "Radio Frequency Equipment";

FCC Part 18 "Industrial, Scientific, and Medical Equipment";

FCC Part 22 "Public Mobile Services";

FCC Part 24 "Personal Communication Services";

FCC Part 90 "Dedicated Land Mobile Radio Services";

FCC Part 95 "Personal Radio Services".

For certification, the product should have a nameplate or label with the FCC identifier (FCC ID), and the FCC ID must always be accessible when using the product. Unless electronic labels are used, the placement of FCC IDs must be physical labels on the product.

Some RF devices also need to include information in the device packaging (i.e., when the device is too small (and does not use electronic tags), the FCC ID should be placed in the user manual, and the FCC ID should also be affixed to the device packaging or removable tags attached to the device)
